MCS Certification
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is a certification programme that ensures the quality and reliability of small-scale renewable energy and low-carbon installations. Why do I need MCS certification?
With rising fuel costs and the requirement for the UK to significantly reduce its carbon emissions by 2030, there is no better time to become an MCS certified installer. Building Regulations dictate that all new build properties must include renewable energy technologies, and there is a need to retrofit 27 million dwellings within the next 10 years.
MCS certification will allow your business to demonstrate that it operates a robust and controlled installation process, which gives end customers the reassurance that their investment is compliant and comes with appropriate consumer protection.
Furthermore, all domestic installations that export power to the grid, and those that are funded using Government schemes such as the Boiler Upgrade Grant or the Energy Company Obligation, require MCS certification before such funding can be claimed.

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) covers 7 renewable energy technologies, with solar PV and heat pumps likely to be the most commonly-installed in the UK at the present time. This is partly due to the presence of available funding through the Energy Company Obligation and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, although suitability of the UK's housing stock also plays a part.

Our Quality Management System is integrated, meaning that the PAS 2030 and MCS standards can be combined in the one platform - no longer is there a need for individual management systems for different standards.
