Retrofit Assessor Training

Retrofit Assessors stand to benefit significantly a vast range of opportunities in the field of domestic retrofit over the next decade. Accurate and comprehensive surveys are crucial to steering the PAS 2035 process in the correct direction, ultimately ensuring that projects are right first time.

Become a Retrofit Assessor.

Demand for Retrofit Assessors is already at an all-time high and only set to continue increasing as the retrofit workforce expands to meet the UK's net-zero targets.

The role of the Retrofit Assessor involves undertaking detailed surveys of buildings, including RdSAP data collection and entry, the production of a floorplan, an occupancy assessment and, crucially, a condition report. This package of data is then used by a Retrofit Coordinator to fully understand the characteristics of a dwelling before specifying a suitable set of retrofit interventions and energy efficiency improvements.

The PAS 2035 process is informed by the Retrofit Assessor's findings, which not only guide improvements in building performance and reduced energy demand, but also cover important issues such as structural integrity, ventilation, and the mitigation of condensation, damp and mould growth. The Level 3 Certificate for Retrofit Assessors provides the depth of understanding necessary to be highly successful in the role.
